Child Issues

Behavioural Problems
Some children have extremely difficult and challenging behaviours that are outside the norm for their age.
These problems can result from temporary stressors in the child’s life, or they might represent more enduring disorders. The most common disruptive behaviour disorders include oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder (CD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Boys are more likely than girls to suffer from behavioural disorders.
Treatment options include parent management training, cognitive behaviour therapy, medication and treatment for associated problems.
Learning Difficulties
Learning Difficulties (sometimes referred to as "learning differences") relates to significant and unusual difficulties in the acquisition and use of one or more of the following areas: listening, speaking, reading, writing and mathematical skills.
In Australia learning difficulties are also referred to as dyslexia, learning disorders, learning disabilities, and/or specific learning difficulties.
Learning difficulties are not indicative of intelligence levels, in fact some children demonstrate high levels of intelligence in some specific areas such as visual-spatial ability or motor skills.

Mental Health

Sadness, feeling down, having a loss of interest or pleasure in daily activities - these are symptoms familiar to all of us. But, if they persist and affect our life substantially, it may be depression.
It is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.
Anxiety is a general term for several disorders that cause nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worrying.
These disorders affect how we feel and behave and can cause physical symptoms. Mild anxiety is vague and unsettling, while severe anxiety can seriously affect day-to-day living.
Panic Attack
A panic attack is the abrupt onset of intense fear or discomfort that reaches a peak within minutes and includes at least four of the following symptoms:
Palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate. Sweating. Trembling or shaking. Sensations of shortness of breath or smothering.
Personality Disorder
Personality is the way of thinking, feeling and behaving that makes a person different from other people. An individual’s personality is influenced by experiences, environment (surroundings, life situations) and inherited characteristics.
A personality disorder is a way of thinking, feeling and behaving that deviates from the expectations of the culture, causes distress or problems functioning, and lasts over time.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a common, chronic and long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over.

Personal Growth

Personality Development
Personality development is the relatively enduring pattern of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that distinguish individuals from one another.
The dominant view in the field of personality psychology today holds that personality emerges early and continues to change in meaningful ways throughout the lifespan.
Personal Achievement
Personal achievements can include charitable work, entrepreneurial success, establishing good health, financial stability and obtaining a college degree.
They reflect psychological, emotional and professional successes.
A personal achievement is an attribute that provides an individual with a sense of pride.

Other Services

Psychometric Tests
Psychometric tests are a standard and scientific method used to measure individuals' mental capabilities and behavioural style.
Psychometric tests are designed to measure candidates' suitability for a role based on the required personality characteristics and aptitude (or cognitive abilities).
Relaxation, Meditation
A variety of stress management techniques are available that involve learning how to control your body’s responses to stress or anxiety.
These techniques involve learning to consciously relax your body through a variety of techniques, such as meditation or guided imagery.
As with any new skill you are trying to learn, daily practice is important to acquiring mastery of these techniques.
Stress & Anger Management
Anger management and stress management work in similar ways.
This is partly because anger and stress both have a psychological component so they can be managed psychologically.
They can both affect us in very negative ways, particularly if they are left unmanaged, and that it is why it is important to understand their relationship.
